Oasis

Introduction

Oasis is a well-being app that aims to help users relax and recharge after socialising. Imagine if, in ten years, our world becomes more introverted. Socialising becomes a more burdensome task as people tend to be less open and more private. For international students who get to a new environment and are in a group only with students of the same nationality, creating connections between people can be even tougher. Oasis aims to help this target user group get some personal space and recharge after socialising.

Methods: Interviews, surveys, video prototyping

Tools: Figma, Adobe XD

Team: Xuni Huang, Adam Cerven, Kári Steinn Aðalsteinsson, Mohamad Harits Nur Fauzan, Sandra Larsson

Design Process

Discover: To gather insights from the experiences of international students, we conducted interviews with five participants who are international students. Affinity diagramming was used to analyse the interview data, followed by a survey to confirm our findings in a large user group.

Define: A user persona that summarises the findings and the core design challenge was created.

Design challenge: How might we design something that helps international students recharge and relax after socializing?

Develop: Sensorial Brainstorming and Lotus Blossoms were utilised for ideation. The selected ideas were developed further using an A4 concept template, followed by lo-fi prototyping.

Deliver: Based on the results of the user testing, we selected one idea and developed it into a high-fi prototype using Figma.
